We invite our club members to join us Sunday, November 22nd, for a private Kimono Fashion Show featuring the stunningly vibrant yukata style kimonos designed by Alicia Wood, Portland, OR.  We will also offer a very special tasting of Yoshi No Gawa saké, newly imported from Niigata, Japan. 

Founded in 1548, Yoshi-no-gawa is the oldest saké brewery in the now world famous Niigata Prefecture, a region considered the "Bordeaux of saké" by sommeliers across the globe. The Yoshi-no-gawa Kura (brewery) straddles the historic Emperor's Road where it maintains the highest standards of brewing excellence under the guidance of 19th generation brewery president, Koji Kawakami. The first saké producer to be awarded the Grand Champion Diamond Award (#1 Saké producer) at the "All Japan Saké Competition," it is also distinguished as the only saké producer to be honored with this award five times. 

Catering will be provided by Mio Sushi, born in 1994 in NW Portland as a local Japanese restaurant.  Their menu combines traditional as well as creative fusion dishes that reflects the local ingredients and flavors of the Pacific Northwest. 

You'll nibble on a variety of sushi rolls including a customer favorite, the cruch roll with combines spicy tuna, crab and avocado rolled with rice and nori then dipped in tempura batter and crispy-fried.
